The Stephen Jackson Situation

Stephen Jackson is awesome, he speaks his mind, sticks up for his teammates, and dudes a dreamer. He really thinks that somehow Baron Davis might end up back in GS. HAHA sorry Cap'n Jack that ship has sailed. Hopefully you will revert back to wanting to be traded, because I would love to see you back in the playoffs. Best possible scenario in my world in Stephen Jackson and Ronnie Turiaf to Cleveland for Wally's World. I know that does not really help GS at all, and they would be giving up there leader for an expiring contract but what reason is there not to do it? It is not like GS is going to the playoffs this season, and its not like Money is worth more than players in the NBA today. I would be happy with a Stephen Jackson to Detroit for Rip Hamilton that would be an interesting trade (but i know that wont happen this is purely a what i wish would happen) Most plausible Stephen Jackson to anywhere trade is probably Cap'n Jack for AK47. I know it sounds random but it would benefit both teams tremendously. Kirelinko will likely fit in very well with GS uptempo style and will likely be moving his services to Russia, which will give GS a cap boost without them loosing much in terms of entertainment for this season. And if Jackson played in Utah he would add much needed shooting and perimeter defense. He might actually be the one piece they are missing as a team, Kirelinko's abilities are expendable for the Jazz with the coming out of Paul Millsap and Boozers pending return. Jackson will be able to play the 3 for the Jazz while relieving Ronnie Brewer of some of his heavy lifting on defense. Its unlikely but it would be an interesting swap that I think makes sense.

I call just about every trade

I have not been perfectly right but I called AI to Detroit about 2 weeks before it happened i even called that they would send denver native Chauncee Billups back home. I told my friend on his birthday at the phx houston game a couple weeks ago diaw would be moved probably to charlotte or ny. (i thought the suns might swap him for harrington). I did not think the suns would get J-Rich for diaw i thought Gerald Wallace was more likely to get traded. If Raymund Felton gets traded to GS that would be 3 for 3 in predicting where a guy on the block will probably go.

1. Shawn Marion to Cleveland either won't happen or it will ruin what the Cavs have going
2. Shawn Marion to Utah for Carlos Boozer is looking like a possibility with Paul Millsaps production and Boozer's I am getting a raise speech.
3. Shawn Marion to the Knicks with Mark Blount for Stephon Marbury and David Lee makes sense. It would depend on how (Chalmers is playing come february and what the situation with marbury is)

Trade that should happen but probably wont

• Mike Miller to Cleveland for Wally (more players to make contracts match) This would give the TWolves a head start toward rebuilding and adding another young star to compliment Al Jefferson next summer in FA with Wally's 13 million coming off the books. Mike Miller would help cleveland in every imanigable way (compared to what wally does)
• Carlos Boozer to the Knicks for David Lee and Al Harrington

CP is better than DW

I used to love the who is better Chris Paul or Deron Williams debate, well not so much anymore, it to me is obvious that Chris Paul is better and frankly I don't know why I ever considered the possibility that he wasn't. I used to think it was because Deron Williams is better at defense but after watching Chris Paul about a dozen times this year I have come to the conclusion that Chris Paul is better then Deron Williams at every facet of the game except shooting which is still pretty close. Deron could actually be a better passer but CP demands so much attention he gets his guys more buckets. The reason I think there is even a debate about who is better is because there is no way to guage a guy until you can compare him to somebody. Michael Jordan was compared to Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone and Charles Barkley were always compared their whole careers, even Magic Johnson had to hear comparisons with Oscar Robinson his whole career. Now Deron Williams will serve as the stepping stone for Chris Paul to take his place among the elite PG's of all time. Sorry Deron but the good thing is your still really good

Some Suprises

1. Dj Augustin is really really good. I expected him to be a productive NBA player, but I really did not expect to expect him to play in a few all star games. Dj could be a top 10 PG in this league in 2 years. He is already one of the better offensive points in the league but his defense his par for a rookie at best. His size is always going to be a disadvantage on the defensive end but he has an offensive skill set of a steve nash-damon stoudamire hybrid.
2. Spencer Hawes is going to be a very solid NBA player. He will average a double double the day brad miller leaves. He seems to have a very high basketball IQ and also does not seem intimidated by anyone.
3. Derrick Rose- I knew he was going to be an amazing PG, everyone knew he would end up to be one of the best in the league but who could have thought that he would be considered the best pg in the east? Although i do not think he is the best in the east (that would be Devin Harris) I am completely suprised he is even in the discussion. The fact that he has the bulls in playoff contention and is the leader of the team is the most impressive part of his rookie campaign. He is also 6th in the league in minutes

FOR THE RECORD WHEN I WAS 9 YEARS OLD STEVE NASH WAS A ROOKIE AND I ASKED HIM WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE THE NEXT JOHN STOCKTON? Steve laughed and said I dont know about that....
Well Steve I was about as close to right as a person can be about a player, so I would like someone to pass on to Steve Nash that I told you so.




I watch the NBA as if I am a scout, not a fan, I don't watch games rooting for a team I watch the games to see good competitive basketball, although I always want my hometown Suns to win, I don't watch the games with the mindset that the suns are going to win every game, in fact I am willing to make bets against the suns while wearing a suns jersey in the middle of a game as long as i think the suns are going to lose ( f.e.-at the NO game last season double overtime+ I bet the suns would loose+peja buzzer beater=money for me). I don't think LeBron is the best player in the world just because he is the most fun to watch. I think he is the best player in the world because it is completely obvious, he took a lottery team to the finals that should have been the first clue (unless your a thick minded I can't deal with change type of dude, then you still think Kobe is the top dog/\sorry your wrong) I don't think Kobe Bryant is a tad overrated just because he is a Laker, I think he is overrated because his individual accomplishments have not transitioned into success, I am aware that Kobe is top 10 SG's of all time, but I do not believe popular perception that he is #2 on that list. In fact I do not even think Kobe can lead his current Laker squad to a title. I am not saying its impossible or anything like that, but as last year showed Kobe is not the one man scoring machine he used to be, he still has the "ability" but he does not tap into it enough to just take over an entire series. Unless Andrew Bynum can do what Pau and Lamar can't (deliver in the playoffs) then I do not think Kobe can get them over the top, I do however think LeBron can win any series against any team as long as he has 2 shooters and 2 rebounders doesn't matter who.
I don't think Derrick Rose is the best PG prospect in 20 years just because some scouts say so, I think he is going to be better then every PG we have seen since John Stockton because, he is humble, focused on winning, and he understands what it is he is supposed to do to be the best, oh and the fact that he has limitless potential (think pg version of LeBron). I think Derrick Rose vs. Chris Paul are going to b the greatest pg battles since KJ vs the Glove cept Rose and Paul wont have a Charles Barkley or Shawn Kemp type player catching their passes.
I also do not believe in players who have success in only one situation. Every player in the NBA was the man on a team at some point in their life so therefore every player in the NBA knows how to dominate. There are a couple players that I will not except as good until I see them succeed in some other system or with some different players
David West- Has done absolutely nothing without Chris Paul, the fact that he can knock down an open or semi-open midrange jump shot should be accepted as being a player in the NBA. His 8 RPG are respectable but he is by no means dominating anybody down low. He had one good outting where he seemed like he was better then Tim Duncan in the playoffs last year but that one good outting does not merit top 5 pf in the NBA consideration. I mean seriously I have beat Mike Bibby in a 5 on 5 pick up game, I have outscored Nigel Knight in a pick up game but I am not stupid enough to think I am on anywhere near the same level as those guys.
Chris Duhon- Until you do something away from Mike D'Antoni you will always be a product of his system to me. Granted you had a 22 asst game, and a few of 10 or more in the first month but if I was consistenly looking for 3 pt shooters and others in fast break situations i think i could rack up 5 assists on a consistent basis so an average of 8 is not that impressive.
Steve Nash- I am not saying he is not a great player, I am saying he should not be a 2 time MVP and first ballot HOFer, if he never played for Mike D'Antoni the chances he never would have even gotten back to the all star game are pretty high. If in 2001 I said what are the chances steve nash has the best years of his career after he leaves dallas? every knowledgable basktball mind would have said slim to none.
Shawn Marion- Good player stat stuffer and all but really he is showing what kind of player he has always been with the heat.
